What Is 710?

Much like our beloved 420, the global call to light up on April 20, 710, aka July 10, is the stoners’ call to pay homage to the blessed cannabis oil. Also known as National Dab Day, 710 is a day dedicated to all things concentrates.

Why Do We Call It 710?

Like 420, the stories on this day’s beginnings are a bit hazy. While there are several tales about how 710 came about, one that seems to have legs involves underground rapper TaskRok and his buds, as they were “partaking,” of course. Apparently, 420 seemed too conventional (everyone was on the 420-train), so they decided their favorite activity—dabbing—should have its own day. 

Since their new day would be about cannabis OIL, 710 (OIL upside down) seemed fitting. TaskRok and Linus even commemorated the new holiday by releasing their “7:10” and “Burn that Oil” tracks on the July 10, 2011 album release—The Movement.

What Is Dabbing?

Dabbing is a method of consuming cannabis concentrates, which come in a variety of textures, including badder, rosin, live resin, wax, shatter, sugar, and hash oil. It involves heating a tiny amount (dabs) of concentrate using a dab rig, dab pen, or e-rig to very high temperatures to produce a vapor you can then inhale.
