Start Early: The April 18th Kickoff Event at MAC

MAC is launching the 4/20 weekend on Saturday, April 18, from 12 PM to 5 PM with an on-site Spring Awakening event that gives the celebration room to breathe before the holiday rush hits, featuring music, games, local vendors, free swag, and special 420 pricing.

Cousins Maine Lobster, one of the most recognizable food trucks in the country, will be parked outside. Known for their fresh lobster rolls, lobster bisque, and New England-style seafood, Cousins Maine Lobster brings a real food-first energy to the event.

Alongside the food truck, you can expect a full lineup of vendors, live music, and interactive games throughout the afternoon. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

4/20 Weed Deals Chicopee: What to Do Around MAC Before and After Your Visit

MAC sits at 1247 E Main Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, and the surrounding area gives you plenty of ways to build a full day around the holiday.

Chicopee Memorial State Park, located on Burnett Road just a few minutes from MAC, offers walking trails, a swimming area, and picnic spots along the Chicopee River. It’s a great location for a pre-dispensary walk or a post-visit wind-down with food from the event trucks. The park is a well-used local spot, and the trails are accessible for most fitness levels.

For something a little more specific to the region, the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield, roughly 15 minutes from MAC via I-291, features life-size bronze sculptures of beloved characters created by Springfield native Theodor Geisel.

Dinosaur Footprints Reservation on Route 5 in Holyoke, managed by The Trustees, is a genuinely unusual outdoor destination, one of the few places in the country where you can walk up to 134 preserved Jurassic-era dinosaur tracks directly embedded in exposed stone along the Connecticut River. No crowds, no admission fee, and easy to reach in under 20 minutes from MAC.

If you’d rather stay close and move at a slower pace, the Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke offers a 4-mile perimeter trail with water views. It’s calm, flat, and well-suited to a relaxed walk after a full event day.

For food beyond the event trucks, the Chicopee and Springfield corridor has a range of casual options. Springfield’s Red Rose Pizzeria is a well-regarded dining spot and is less than 15 minutes away from MAC if you’re looking for a full meal before or after.

MAC is open Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM to 9 PM. Coming earlier in the morning on 4/20 will give you the best selection and the most time with our budtenders before peak hours hit.
