Becoming a Patient is
Easier Than Ever

1. Get Certified

Obtain a medical marijuana certification from your certifying provider.

2. Get Pin Number

After your certification, you will receive a PIN number from your provider. It will also be emailed to you from the Cannabis Control Commission.

3. Register with Mass CIP (formerly Virtual Gateway)

Register with the Mass CIP by creating a username and password.

4. Print Temporary Card

Once registered with the Medical Marijuana online system, you will receive an email confirming your registration with instructions how to print a temporary program ID.

5. Visit Mass Alternative Care

Make sure to bring your valid patient ID card and a second, unexpired state-issued picture ID to purchase our medical products.

Key Medical Card Benefits

Medical Marijuana Patient & Caregivers are exempt from the 20% state and local taxes on Adult Use purchases and are also eligible for receiving discounts on both medicated and non-medicated products.

Cardholders are able to purchase and possess up to 10 ounces of flower every 60 days. That means larger product variety and buying power!

All Dispensaries must hold a percentage of all inventory for medical use, giving you access to better selection

MAC Cares
